Senior Sales Representative
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
Reports to: Sales and Marketing Manager
Position Summary:
This is a dynamic role that blends inside sales support with outside business development, including client consultations, technical project quoting, relationship building, and post-sale support. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep product knowledge, initiative, and a customer-first mindset in identifying opportunities, developing new relationships, and supporting project success from start to finish.
We envision the incumbent quickly developing into the department 2IC and being the primary succession candidate for the Sales and Marketing Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
Inside Sales and Quoting
• Greet and consult with clients in the Northerm showroom, providing expert guidance on product selection, specifications, and customization options
• Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely quotes for residential and commercial projects using internal systems and price guides
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop tailored proposals and ensure feasibility
• Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and tenders by coordinating submissions, timelines, and follow-ups
• Maintain updated knowledge of all Northerm product lines and provide technical support to prospective customers
Outside Sales and Business Development
• Proactively identify and pursue new residential, commercial, and institutional sales opportunities in the region (including all of Yukon, Eastern NWT, Northern BC and a portion of Alaska)
• Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with general contractors, developers, builders, architects, and engineers
• Conduct site visits to gather project details, measure openings, assess product needs, and provide on-site consultations
• Attend trade shows, open houses, and local events to promote Northerm’s products and services
• Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate order logistics, timelines, and ensure customer expectations are met
Customer Relationship Management and Support
• Act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process, offering ongoing communication and transparency with clients
• Follow up consistently with leads, quotes, and past customers to ensure satisfaction and uncover additional needs
• Manage any post-installation issues in coordination with the service and production teams to ensure a positive resolution
• Contribute to the selection and implementation of a new CRM. Track and manage all customer and opportunity data in the CRM system and ensure records are current and accurate
• Support warranty and after-sales inquiries with professionalism and commitment to Northerm’s service standards
Contribute to the identification and pursuit of new products to add to our product mix, including the development and execution of sales strategies.
Reporting and Collaboration
• Meet or exceed personal and company sales targets, providing regular status updates to the Sales Manager
• Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to help shape product offerings and sales strategies
• Participate in regular sales meetings and collaborate with marketing on promotional activities and campaigns
• Assist with product launches, showroom displays, and materials as needed
Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in window and door sales, ideally with exposure to both residential and commercial markets
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Experience responding to RFPs and navigating tender processes is highly desirable
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal capabilities
• Proficient in CRM systems, quoting software, and Microsoft Office tools
• Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to generate and follow through on new business opportunities
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Whitehorse and surrounding areas
