About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Aquatics Specialist, the Aquatics Scientist II is responsible for supporting the delivery of aquatics-related services for clients and Ensero projects. This role will also support project management, business development and the development of environmental assessments and regulatory applications support for various clients and projects.

Key Responsibilities
Provides direction and activities related to planning studies, environmental assessments and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients.
Lead all activities related to environmental permitting applications and studies for Ensero projects and clients.
Provide corporate technical support to Ensero projects with regard to environmental compliance, governance and permitting.
Interface and communicate with various levels of government, stakeholders and communities to advance permitting activities.
Interface, engage and consult with various levels of government, indigenous groups/governments, stakeholders and communities.
Represent Ensero Solutions and our clients in regulatory and community meetings, workshops and events and oversee the preparation of presentation materials.
Keep abreast of existing and pending legislation and regulation changes which may impact Ensero projects or our client’s projects. Coordinate and disseminate regulatory information within the company.
Develop professional and business relationships across the industry to better advance Ensero’s growth and strategic initiatives.
Mentors project team members including direction, coaching, and professional development.
Completes other projects, reporting and tasks as assigned.

About You
Bachelor’s degree in biology, Fisheries or Aquatic Science or related field with relevant work experience.
Experience
5+ years of relevant experience in mining or environmental consulting with demonstrated success in aquatic-related services.
Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of field activities (i.e., water quality, fisheries inventories/salvage, benthic invertebrates).
Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network (CABIN) – Data Manager certification is advantageous.
Backpack electrofishing crew lead certificate.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe
Statistical software (i.e. R Stats, Primer, XL Stat) experience using univariate and multivariate statistics to interpret data is an asset.
