We are actively seeking an experienced Plant Operators to join our Operations Team between our Meota and Edam facilities. This position requires the successful candidate to reside in the North Battleford area or be willing to relocate upon hire. Reporting to the Shift Engineer, the Plant Operator will be responsible for having a full working knowledge of safety procedures, plant equipment and plant operations in all areas. Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with, and commitment to, Strathcona's Health, Safety and Environment and Regulatory (HSER) policies Provide creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise within the plant environment i.e., troubleshooting, flagging deficiencies, and recommending changes to current practices. Focus on safety, environment and health of employees while maximizing plant production. Review, revise and write Operations Procedures. Report deficiencies, initiate MOCs and enter work orders. Notify leader of emergency/upset situations impacting the facility. Maintain Logbooks to ensure entries are legible, informative, and time stamped. Compliance with TSASK and OH&S directives. Direct maintenance and ensure that the work is completed as per Strathcona's procedures and work standards. Provide responsible and effective leadership during emergency situations or maintenance situations. Assist with Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills. Participate in safety meetings, and continually strive to maintain a safe workplace. Qualifications: Minimum of a Third-Class TSASK Power Engineering Certificate of Competency, with progress working towards a Second-Class Certificate. Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience with steam generation in the Oil and Gas industry (SAGD or CSS). SAGD operating experience, and strong understanding of it processes: Once Through Steam Generator’s (OTSG’s), Water treating, Oil treating process, De-oiling process Ability to work effectively in a team environment, utilizing strong communication and organizational skills. Team player with strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills. Self –motivated, open-minded and results oriented. Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, and strong decision-making skills. Demonstrated investigative and data analysis ability. Strong analytical skills, capable of resolving problems independently. Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office programs. Work Environment: Work shift work on a day/night shift rotation in a plant environment, including weekends, holidays and other shift coverage as required.
