We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.?As a Engineer-In-Training (EIT), you will have the possibility to participate in the design of low level distribution designs, high-level large-scale electrical energy projects, and everything in between. You will evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on distribution, substation, hydroelectric power stations, and renewable energy projects with numerous clients across Canada.This is mainly an office role that is based out of our office in Kelowna or Vancouver.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed design deliverables for utility distribution systems including construction drawings for overhead and underground primary and secondary installations with 2D software (AutoCAD)Collaborate with members of the engineering team as well as project managers from other disciplinesPerform site visits to validate scope requirements and determine existing assets condition, and prepare site survey reportsEnsure design work conforms to all applicable national codes and client standardsUtilize client based Geographic Information Systems and other records for data collection during the design process; Produce bill of material and enter material acquisition requestsCoordinate with third party utility companies, all levels of government agencies, other companies, and institutionsPrepare technical input for reports, specifications, proposals, project schedules, and cost estimatesAssist intermediate and senior staffProject schedule management and tracking with regular reporting to the CIMA+ project manager for project statusPerform and assist with additional duties and tasks based on project requirements and other job functions as assignedPrepare plans, drawings and calculations based on specifications providedQualificationsUniversity Degree in Electrical Engineering or Structural EngineeringRegistered (or eligible to register as) member of a EGBCExperience using AutoCAD software is an assetExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English is requiredExcellent problem solving and multitasking skillsCapability to work independently and in a teamAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressureAttention to detail, eager to learn, and self-motivatedExcellent skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Valid BC Class 5 driving license, or equivalent to obtain the BC license is requiredThe expected salary for this position ranges between $70,000 and $85,000 is based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills, and internal equity.
