Who are we looking for?
Our Engineering Design Organization is looking for a proactive go-getter with a can-do attitude who thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fast-paced environment. As our Electrical Contract Administrator & Inspector working out one of our GTA offices you will play an instrumental role on the Power & Lighting team, supporting design and construction projects involving traffic signals systems, street lighting and power distribution systems.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Delivering projects involving traffic signalization and street lighting systems, with a possibility of expanding into underground / overhead electrical distribution systems
Contract administration duties
Preparation of detailed specifications and schedules of quantities, construction cost estimates and bid analyses
Conducting field investigations, inspections, assessments, etc.
Coordination and liaison with clients, approving authorities and various utility companies
Coordination with internal design team
Project management
Mentoring of junior inspectors
Maintaining and developing inspection documentation and checklists
What you will bring to the team:
College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or degree in Electrical Engineering
Certified IMSA Traffic Signals Inspector
Extensive experience with commissioning and testing of traffic signals systems - minimum 8 years
Thorough knowledge of industry standards and design guidelines, including Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Ontario Traffic Manual OTM Book 7, 12 and 12A and applicable TAC guidelines
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work on multiple projects
Attention to detail
Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent computer skills
G class driver’s license
