Mail Clerk
We are hiring for an on-site role in the printing industry, supporting a professional insurance client. The position focuses on mail distribution, package handling, basic printing tasks, and shipping coordination in a high-volume environment. A background in mailroom operations and the ability to work with equipment such as mail sorters, scanners, and printers is essential.

Responsibilities:
• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
• Perform shipping using automated systems and coordinate courier services.
• Operate mailroom and print equipment (e.g., mail inserters, scanners, color production printers).
• Assemble and prepare materials for shipment and internal distribution.
• Conduct mail merges, label creation, and electronic mail scanning and prep.
• Maintain accurate records for accountable mail and postage chargebacks.
• Monitor supply levels and place inventory orders as needed.
• Conduct regular quality checks and maintain security procedures for sensitive material.
• Deliver mail on scheduled runs and log all fax transmissions and mail deliveries.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; stand/walk for extended periods (approx. 80% of time).
• Manual dexterity for handling, cutting, labeling, and packaging items.
• Navigate multi-floor buildings and loading dock areas as needed.
What you will need to succeed:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months of experience in a professional working environment.
• Prior experience sorting, distributing, and processing incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
• Proficiency in operating mailroom equipment such as postage machines, mail sorters, scanners, and copiers.
• Basic knowledge of color printing processes and equipment.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and shipping platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of standing or walking for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read small print and use visual displays for data entry and tracking.
• Good communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Understanding of mailroom security protocols and handling of confidential material.
