Job Summary Group Risk Management-Wholesale Credit Risk (GRM - WCR) group is responsible for assessing credit exposures of trading and lending activities for complex Capital Markets transactions; coverage is organized by geography and aligned by industry. The GRM - WCR Real Estate team manages exposure to Commercial Real Estate borrowers through effective analysis of credit risk, across various investment strategies. Job Description What Is Your Opportunity? As an Associate, you will lead some of the supporting workstreams including property appraisals, management reporting, regulatory reporting and loan portfolio management. You will also support Credit Officers in risk ratings and to evaluate proposed client requests, providing comprehensive transactional analysis and approval recommendations in a timely manner. What Will You Do? Lead and coordinate real estate appraisals, including engagement with a third-party appraisal management company (AMC) and related market data analysis Prepare, review and enhance management and regulatory credit risk reports for senior management, audit, and regulatory bodies Support management team in portfolio analysis, including tracking upcoming credit rating renewals, loan maturities / refinancings, and expected compliance with covenants Conduct periodic credit risk reviews, risk assessments, and financial analysis for new and existing borrowers Liaise with business partners (Global Credit, Enterprise Risk, Reporting and Governance) on key initiatives and portfolio tasks Stay current on regulatory requirements, market trends, and best practices in credit risk and real estate finance Maintain an up-to-date RAF approval schedule, and continuously reviews Borrower Risk Ratings (“BRR”s) on all assigned borrowers Assist in daily monitoring of borrower’s business and fund performance through monitoring of industry and company information through due diligence conference calls, news releases, financial results, regulatory changes, third party analysis including rating agency publications, and other early warning signals Prepare recommendations for Single Name Strategies and Transaction Requests for signoff based on applicable delegated limit authority Provide technical, analytical and project support for other functions carried out, particularly in the areas of internal reporting requirements, process optimization and data management What do you need to succeed? Must-have 2+ years of working experience in Real Estate Finance, preferably in credit Demonstrated research capabilities and an ability to apply an analytical approach Curiosity and keen interest in Commercial Real Estate sector Ability to handle high volume and multitask in a fast-paced work environment Superior time management skills and attention to detail, with ability to perform well under pressure Strong interpersonal skills, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills Nice-to-have Completed MBA or CFA (or has taken steps towards attaining a CFA designation) Proficient in Excel, including VBA/Macro as a tool for financial analysis and process optimization involving large data sets Interest in pursuing a career in Risk Management What’s in it for you?
