About the Role
As a QA Test Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our transformers meet all internal and external quality standards before they go out the door. You’ll work closely with production teams to complete product testing, prepare documentation, and help troubleshoot quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Test finished product to meet CSA, Cam Tran, and customer specifications
Complete required C & D tests and reports
Assist with root cause analysis of test failures
Communicate quality concerns with line operators
Prepare documentation accurately and on time
Adhere to all safety procedures and policies
Take direction from Mission Assurance Auditor and support related tasks
What You Bring:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or relevant hands-on experience)
Working knowledge of ISO 9000, CSA/IEEE/ANSI standards
Strong understanding of transformer production and plant operations
Experience using multimeters, test panels, and other measurement tools
Able to read wiring diagrams and communicate effectively on the floor
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable making sound decisions
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Skilled in time management, problem-solving, and working independently
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Skills:
Ability to communicate with and provide direction effectively to the line operators.
Ability to read wiring diagrams.
Must be well organized and able to make independent judgments.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Success in this Role Looks Like:
Accurately completing all testing steps with minimal errors and strong documentation habits
Communicating clearly with supervisors and production teams on quality issues
Maintaining excellent attendance and demonstrating reliability on the weekend shift
Staying calm under pressure and working independently during off-hours
Actively identifying and preventing repeat quality issues through thoughtful analysis
Shift & Schedule:
Training Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Permanent Schedule: Friday–Sunday | 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (36 hours/week)
Overtime may be available based on business needs
Please note: This position is currently scheduled for weekend shifts. However, based on operational needs and seasonal workflow, there may be a future transition to an afternoon/evening shift. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to scheduling changes is an important part of this role.
