About this Task Force
The University of Alberta Students' Union (UASU) is striking a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Task Force to design, organize and execute a GOTV strategy that will encourage students to vote in the upcoming municipal election. The three objectives of the committee are to:
Design a GOTV strategy to engage students in the weeks/months leading up to the election, by employing lessons learned from the annual UASU elections.
Organize GOTV volunteers in an effective manner to result in the highest student turnout possible.
Execute strategy through use of strategies such as marketing materials, class talks, one-on-ones, social media and other approaches identified by the Task Force.
The GOTV Task Force will comprise the Students' Union President, Vice-President (External), Vice-President (Operations and Finance). The UASU is looking for seven (7) to ten (10) volunteer organizers who will sit on the Task Force. They will give input and feedback on the GOTV strategy, assist in its execution and help with other duties that may be required of them.

General Duties and Responsibilities
Attending biweekly GOTV Task Force meetings from July to September leading up to the Municipal election on October 20th, 2025.
Working on assigned materials (e.g. planning documents, messaging, volunteer schedules) as determined by the GOTV Task Force between meetings.
Assisting in direct volunteering efforts during the weeks leading up to the municipal election in October.
Hours
The Task Force will hold biweekly meetings from July to September. Meetings are expected to be 45-minutes to 1-hour. Members may be required to do preparatory work between meetings.
Meeting time will be determined based on members’ availability.
Qualifications
Applicants must be registered as a student at the University of Alberta for the 2025-26 academic year. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.
OPTIONAL - experience and/or interest in outreach efforts is welcomed.
