Job Description As Software Test & Developer Experience Co-op at OTTO By Rockwell Automation, you will work in a team responsible for testing OTTO Motor's fleet management and related system software. Your goal is to help build a system of efficient software tests to allow our Fleet Manager to operate at a high level of reliability for years in the field. You will help us deliver seamless, user-friendly digital experiences across multiple programming languages. This is a unique opportunity to apply your engineering skills while learning about the full lifecycle of software product development. You will be Hybrid and the job location is Kitchener, ON. Your Responsibilities: Test plan development and implementation Execute tests for full system, component, simulation and performance. Document test results. Capture issues and artifacts, establishing a strong feedback loop back into development. Extend test frameworks. Support continuous integration, internal tools, and infrastructure. Help with technical support of R&D Fleet Manager Integration projects The Essentials – You Will Have: Pursing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or similar. Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. The Preferred – You Might Also Have: Practical software development and test skills. Experience with Python and C# Exposure to Linux and version control (Git). Understand web technologies and concepts such as REST API, WebSockets. System-level testing, and continuous integration. Familiar with scripting e.g. bash & Java Experience with OPC-UA and tools such as FactoryTalk Optix for industrial automation. For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $18-32/hourly. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. The start date and end date of the coop term is September 3rd 2025 to December 19th 2025.
