Job Description About the Job The Systems Engineering (SE) team at OTTO By Rockwell Automation works closely with our Project Management team within our professional services organization to deliver value to our end-users, channel partners, and OTTO. SEs design and implement fleets of OTTO autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and software at our customer facilities. Also, the SE team delivers training to our integration partners and end-users, and evaluates use cases to establish guidelines, standards, and best practices for how OTTO Motors products can be used by the market, specifically by our integrator network. Furthermore, the SE team is a major contributor to defining our product requirements and is a major influencer of our product roadmap. You will report to Team Lead, System Engineering. You will work Hybrid in Kitchener, ON. Primary Responsibilities: commissioning and integration of AMR systems at client facilities throughout the world; this includes traveling to customer or integration partner facility for on-site deployment and integration with facility side automation equipment support detailed solutions design of AMR systems using OTTO by Rockwell Automation products to meet the customer requirements; this includes workflow design, attachment design, map design and development/modification to middle layer software logic using FT Optix and PLC logic design and modification Author and execute acceptance test plans for validation of system functionality and performance; Optimize system performance through analysis, simulation, and experimentation; project planning for the deliverables and work packages you own; Communicate technical details and status to the customer and broader project team; Consult with integration partners on all of the above Deliver training to integration partners and end-users Troubleshoot software & hardware technical issues using internal tools available; solve new and challenging technical problems related to the above ability to travel for business within North America, Europe and Asia; ~45 - 55 % travel commitment over the year (travel mostly contained to Canada and USA). Trips to site would typically be 2 weeks on - 2 weeks off during the project integration phase. Author new product requirements based on the lessons learned from your design and commissioning activities; Work with the systems engineering team to improve department tools, processes, and working relationships with other departments; support technical set up and optimization of workflow at trade shows The Essentials - You Will Have: Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. Ability to travel for business within North America, Europe and Asia; ~40 - 50 % travel commitment. A valid full drivers licence.
