Closing Date 2025-06-21 Location: Kent Salary: £31,000 Shift: Lates: Monday to Friday - 13:00 to 21:00 Trained and competent in all aspects of sampling activities including the collection of water and wastewater samples and onsite tests. Training and mentoring members of staff within the regional sampling team. Ensure sampling activities are carried out in accordance with Southern Water Health and Safety policies and procedures. Ensure sampling activities adhere to Southern Water quality systems ensuring compliance with the quality accreditation standards as required under ISO/IEC 17025 and Monitoring Certification Scheme for equipment (MCERTS). Ensure company vehicle is maintained and carry out calibration, temperature profiling, operation and maintenance of equipment and instruments in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and MCERTS. Deputise for regional Sampling Team Leader. Ensure sampling data is accurately recorded on company IT systems. Participate in out of hours standby rota. Skills & Competencies · Broad understanding of the full water cycle from supply to tap, wastewater treatment processes and sludge treatment and disposal to land practices. · Proficient in the use of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). · Significance experience of water and wastewater sampling activities. · Work in accordance with internal policies and procedures and in compliance of ISO/EC 17025 and MCERTS. · Ability to work independently with limited guidance and provide appropriate direction on sampling activities to the regional team. Knowledge Knowledge and experience of working to ISO/IEC 17025. Knowledge and experience of DWI and EA regulatory requirements relating to water and wastewater sampling.
