This course emphasizes the development of academic reading strategies, critical thinking, and written communication skills necessary for success in university coursework. The instructor will help students engage with authentic academic texts, build advanced vocabulary and grammar skills, and produce well-structured academic writing through tasks such as paraphrasing, summarizing, and argument development. The instructor is also responsible for preparing and assessing written assignments, integrating digital learning tools, and supervising a teaching assistant. Instruction is aligned with the overall goals of EPIC to ensure students develop the linguistic confidence and academic readiness required for entry into undergraduate studies.
