The Industrial Powder Coater performs a variety of services related to the surface preparation and painting of manufactured products.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Operates powder coat and wet application equipment to ensure a quality paint job is applied to all required surfaces and mechanical bond is achieved.
Maintains all related equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
Safely operates lift trucks to move materials around as needed.
Masks equipment prior to blasting and painting operations as needed.
Communicates with supervisor and abrasive blaster to ensure priority schedule is followed.
Participate in continual improvement activities and the identification & resolution of problems.
Comply with all company rules, regulations, and safety requirements.
Maintain a safe and organized work area.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Lifting, of up to 75 pounds, is required. Considerable walking, climbing of stairs and extended reaching may be required. Will have to work with various power and manual tools, including (but not limited to) an air-fed paint pot and spray gun, air ventilation system, and forklift. Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED
1-2 years of experience in surface preparation, powder coat and wet paint application environment
Work effectively in a team environment
Work with limited supervision and direction
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
