Our Capital Projects Group Reporting Office is seeking a Reporting Specialist (Governance) to provide advice and analytical insight to the development of governance documentation and processes that effectively address internal and external stakeholder reporting requirements for contract approvals necessary to deliver on Metrolinx’s capital portfolio.
What will I be doing?
Coordinates across multiple teams to draft, edit and otherwise develop timely, high-quality, standardized and consistent documentation for presentation to and communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Metrolinx Senior Management, MTO and IO, etc.).
Supports the procurement approval process (e.g. coordinate internal documentation to support the release of RFQs, RFPs, awards of contracts, issuance of purchase orders, etc.).
Works with Capital Projects Groups project teams and other program areas (e.g. Metrolinx Capital Finance, Procurement and Program Controls) to identify opportunities for improvement in reporting, tools, or techniques to improve overall quality and oversight of reporting.
Leverages the full spectrum of internal policies to provide advice and insight on the proper authorization levels and approvals required for capital requests.
Develops reports based on accurate financial and project information and analyzes information to flag potential challenges within the capital program.
Implements and continually improves the data collection and tracking mechanisms associated with monitoring progress towards document completion, including approvals, dates, reviews, timelines and supporting documentation associated with contractual requests.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in Public Policy, Engineering, Analytics or Urban Planning, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
Demonstrated years' of related experience.
Data collection/management techniques and the development/interpretation/management of data to track inputs and determine requirements, retrieve, analyze and deliver insights and recommendations.
Experience with governance processes, methodologies and tools, familiarity with (or ability to gain familiarity with) internal policies and procedures that assure adherence to delegated authority protocols and practices.
Creativity to determine the optimal format of reports and to translate a range of diverse data/information into meaningful content that supports internal and external requirements.
Demonstrated writing skills to effectively edit and create a narrative and provide solid rationale within reports that clearly communicate the need, the request, the supporting governance decisions/policies and the importance.
