The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, managing the performance review process and enforcing company policies and practices.
? Responsibilities
Develops and promotes workplace culture focused on the values of the Company. This includes strong HR and Safety values.
Recruits, interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Represents Western Tractor at job fairs, company events and community events for the purposes of employee recruitment.
Liaises with community partners and school career resources for the purpose of establishing talent pipelines.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; critical incident response, productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education and work assessments.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Responsible for disability case management including STD/LTD and WCB.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Maintains compliance with employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
Works with Department Managers, Health and Safety Officers and payroll and benefits administrator on employee matters.
Collaborates with the payroll and benefits coordinator as needed with compensation, benefits, and leave.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
At least 3 years of human resource management experience is preferred
CPHR or CPHR eligibility
Valid class 5 driver's license
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
