(TCI) currently has an exciting 24-month contract opportunity for an individual with a passion for technology and the automotive industry reporting to the Manager of Connected Technologies (CT). The successful candidate will be accountable for coordinating technical requirements with affiliate partners & stakeholders, assisting current and future generations of In-Vehicle-Infotainment (IVI) & App development activities, and actively performing testing and validation work to ensure market readiness and quality. This will be completed with the help of others on the team. In doing so, this individual will be ensuring successful launches for the Canadian market through issue identification and resolution. Ultimately, this role complements the development & engineering section of TCI-CT in the planning, testing, and implementation of new connected services and features, both within the vehicle and within the app, for current generation telematics systems and beyond. What We’ll Bring: Company & Culture A hybrid work environment A work environment built on teamwork, flexibility and respect Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career A focus on respect for people and continuous improvement Summer Hours – condensed work week during the summer Benefits Competitive compensation package Extended health care and dental benefits effective immediately Associate vehicle discount program Paid holiday shutdown and competitive paid time off benefits What You’ll be Doing: Coordinate Technical Requirements for Current & Future Generation Products & Services: Verify all technical and business requirements are captured, communicated and completed for current and future connected products and services Identify, investigate and resolve all technical requirement issues and gaps in preparation for launch, ensuring market readiness for deployment Identify, investigate and resolve any technical requirement issues post-launch to enhance customer experience and product/service quality Testing & Validation for In-Vehicle-Infotainment (IVI) & Toyota/Lexus App: Perform Canadian market specific testing and validation of vehicle Head Unit (HU) and App to ensure market readiness for launch Consult and achieve alignment with Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) and Toyota Connected North America (TCNA) Identify, track, prioritize, investigate and resolve all technical issues impacting Canadian customers and help with root cause analysis and solution implementation Assist CT Engineer and CT Senior Engineer with current and future generation planning, development, testing and execution of new and updated connected features Assist with market readiness confirmation activities for Over-The-Air (OTA) updates Conduct beta testing; validate functions prior to production release Provide recommendations on IVI and App enhancements to improve the customer experience Communicate & Collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders: Collaborate with all stakeholders, both internally at TCI and externally at TMNA/TCNA and vendors, to ensure needs and requirements are appropriately communicated Advocate and promote awareness of unique Canadian requirements and market-specific issues/needs Build strong and productive relationships with TMNA/TCNA and Affiliate partners Support and promote internal and external awareness of Connected Technologies Enhance Work Processes and Efficiency: Lock in and measure incremental success through the creation and maintenance of Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) Initiate and implement appropriate ‘kaizen’ (continuous improvement) efforts, which result in work efficiencies relating to improved time, process efficiencies, cost reduction or avoidance Continual reflection of CT products and services offerings What You’ll Bring: University Degree in Engineering, Software or Information Technology 3+ years of experience with project management, critical thinking, root-cause analysis/issue resolution, product development, testing & validation, preferably in vehicle infotainment systems and apps Experience in a technology product-focused role is preferred Demonstrated customer service, analytical & problem-solving skills (technical & business) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills Result-oriented, proactive and self-starter Comfortable operating in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment with constantly changing and high-demand priorities Comfortable with technology and technical issues with an aptitude to translate into non-technical terms Ability to foster productive relationships with internal and external partners Ability to travel on occasion Bilingual (French/English) is an asset About Us Toyota Canada Inc. is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
