What you’ll do:
The Team Member will perform a variety of responsibilities in the operation, ensuring alignment with our Core Values and Brand.
Understanding and following Westview Co-op’s Health and Safety Program, including all Food Safety standards in the Meat Department, and promoting a culture of safety
Providing a World Class Guest Experience to our Members and Guests and living by our Brand expectations through our “You’re at Home Here” motto
Following Best Practice in the Meat Department
Adhering to and completing Proper and Safe Meat Cutting procedures/techniques
Maintain a clean and regularly sanitized environment
Preparation and merchandising of the product, including cutting, trimming, grinding, wrapping and preparing trays of meat with display integrity
Labels meat to indicate the cut, grade, preparation date, best-by-date, and other relevant information
Loading and unloading, and receiving of merchandise
Receive, inspect and store the meat upon delivery, to ensure quality
Maintaining day-to-day image standards and cleanliness, sterilization of knives and tools
This position will work collaboratively with the Team Leader and support other Team Members as needed
Opening and closing responsibilities
Answering guest questions/inquiries and assisting with requests on demand
Work at our Carstairs Food Store location as needed
Other projects and assignments as required
This position offers between 24 to 32 hours per week and will include a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The successful candidate may also be required to travel to our Carstairs Food Store location to provide support as needed.

Previous experience in retail is a benefit, and Meat Cutter training (CRS or external) is required.
