Reporting to the Gas Bar/C-Store Manager, the Gas Bar Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting a high-performing team.
This position is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the Gas Bar including sales, inventory control, merchandising, administrative tasks, and Gas Bar standards. The Supervisor will also perform the duties of a Gas Bar Attendant, including fueling support, operating the POS system, stocking, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide world-class customer service to all guests
Supervise daily operations of the Gas Bar, supporting the Gas Bar Manager
Assist in inventory control, placing orders, and receiving shipments
Operate POS systems and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately
Help with merchandising, stocking, and maintaining clean, organized displays
Maintain cleanliness of the Gas Bar, restrooms, fuel pumps, car wash, and propane station
Support the training and onboarding of new team members
Ensure all operations follow Co-op policies and safety procedures
Perform duties of a Gas Bar Attendant as required
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Minimum 2 year of retail experience, ideally in a convenience or gas station setting
Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and lift up to 30 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally
Strong numeracy skills and ability to operate calculators, POS terminals, and registers
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills
High level of integrity and professionalism
Strong interpersonal skills; able to lead and work in a diverse team environment
Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn in a fast-paced setting
Proven leadership skills with a focus on team engagement and motivation
Work Schedule:
This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, and weekends.
