About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect (ERP – HCM) to join us in the exciting work we do in Canadian Utilities Limited. Reporting to the Manager, Architecture, you will get to plan, architect, and provide directions on activities related to the implementation of software, technologies, and third-party solutions. In this position, you will also be responsible for research and opportunity assessments of appropriate technology based on requirements and constraints, leveraging your knowledge across a wide range of technologies and emerging trends to identify enhancements and evolve the technology portfolio and processes. This is a techno-functional role where your technical and functional consultancy skills will be at use for enterprise applications.
What You Get to Do:
Solution Architecture
Provide expertise to ensure the realization of changes and enhancements to the implemented systems, and develop architecture for all Enterprise Applications, components, extensions, integrations, and reports
Provide leadership of the overall solution design and configuration of ERP systems and supporting applications
Work with technical teams, business partners/specialists across application groups and 3rd parties to understand the current state and identify constraints in defining the future state architecture for applications & related interfaces
Work with Data Architecture, Security Architecture, Infrastructure SMEs, and project teams to ensure all aspects of the architecture are defined in conjunction with ATCO standards, policies, priorities and best practices
Manage the application portfolio in terms of technology currency, business agility, technology evolution, business fit, opportunities to improve efficiencies and Total Cost of Ownership
Develop the architecture artifacts (Architecture Blueprint, Architecture Decisions, Application Roadmap) based on ATCO practices
Facilitate small to large group meetings for reviewing technical architecture, decision making and problem solving
Collaboration
Act as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders during solution development to ensure proposed solution meet immediate and strategic business objectives of external Stakeholders (Business Analyst, Business Users, Technology/Application SMEs)
Collaborate with Principal Architects, Solution Architects and other project team members to validate solution architectures, technical designs, system deployments and support documentation covering all architecture, design, and operational aspects
Assist the Project Manager with the technical aspects of planning, quality control, change control and risk management
Collaborate with various departments, architects, project managers, business relationship management and technical leads to develop estimates and overall implementation solution plan
Work with application, security, infrastructure, and other operational support teams, as well as project teams to resolve technical design, implementation, or operational technology issues
Engage with vendors, third party, and other industry experts to stay aware of ERP vendor roadmaps, functional capabilities, and lessons learned
Industry Knowledge and Technology Utilization
Maintain a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
Stay current on industry trends, process improvement methodologies, and architecture best practices
Ensure alignment of Technology Strategy with Business Strategy
Provides support in the appropriate research into current and emerging technology trends to determine how these may add value to the business and provide appropriate briefings to technical and non-technical audiences
Operations Management
Assist with the development, documentation, communication, and enforcement of a policy for standardizing technology, configurations, and software as necessary
Maintain and publish solution architecture artifacts to keep them current and usable
Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s existing architecture and technology footprint
Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current processes and technology portfolio and recommend solutions
Evaluate new technologies fit in current architecture
Identify and develop opportunities for application reuse, migration, or retirement
What You Bring:
Post-secondary degree in related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of 15 years’ business/IT industry experience
10+ years of experience in Oracle HCM with at least 5 years of Oracle Cloud HCM Solutions Architect, Solutions Consulting and/or implementation experience
Must have experience in full life cycle implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM across various modules such as, Core, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Labor, Talent, Workforce Compensation, Performance/Goals, Recruiting, Learning, HR Helpdesk acting as a lead or Solution Architect
Experience in implementing or supporting Oracle Cloud HCM, specifically Global HR, Workforce Management and Workforce Rewards, Benefits, Payroll, Absence, Time & Labor
Ability to quickly understand HR concepts and apply to technology
Familiarity with a variety of different architectural frameworks, patterns, and standards
Familiarity with architectural modelling techniques
Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
Excellent understanding of the architectural principles of cloud-based platforms including IaaS, PaaS, CaaS and SaaS
Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Web Services, REST/SOAP APIs
SQL, PL/SQL, BI Publisher, and OTBI for reporting
Preferred experience consulting on HCM systems architecture, integration and/or management consulting
TOGAF Certification is preferred
Certifications in Oracle Cloud HCM are an asset
Other ERP-related business processes/modules like Finance and Supply Chain are an asset
