Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? As the Senior Director & Head, Research and Asset Allocation, you will lead a vertical in the Chief Investment Office of RBC Insurance, which focuses on the deployment of capital from the CIO office, including (but not limited to) investment grade public, private debt, infrastructure finance, and structured product research. What will you do? Oversee staff that are responsible for the fundamentals analysis of credit exposure from a factor model perspective to CUSIP/loan level analytics Present a holistic credit strategy to the Global Investment Committees, Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance Boards Be the face of the CIO group to street research, private placement, and alternative asset managers Partner with the trading team to develop execution strategies and propose ongoing portfolio optimization trades (within appropriate Asset Liability Management frameworks) Partner with the fund management group to ensure risk limit frameworks are in place to execute the strategy Partner with the data/analytics team to create analytical frameworks for credit exposure and develop ongoing reporting standards What do you need to succeed? Must-have Tenured Buy or Sell Side Public Markets (Investment Grade/High Yield) Research Experience Experience in evaluating Public/Private/Alternative asset classes Working knowledge of Data Science (Python, Snowflake, Tableau) Culture Carrier – leading by example with an inclusive, collaborative agile mindset Technical master’s degree Nice-to-have CFA, CAIA Designations A portfolio of deployed alternative assets (direct or via external managers) Knowledge of structured product evaluation tools: Intex, Yieldbook, Thetica Deep understanding of CAR and LICAT capital guidelines People Management Experience What’s in it for you?
