Job Summary:
The Screening Program Follow up clerk (Clerk IV) is responsible for performing a variety of clerical administrative tasks required to initiate and complete diagnostic follow up of abnormal screening test results. This includes:
Communicate (oral and written) abnormal screening test results to Screening Program clients
Process follow-up diagnostic referrals due to an abnormal result
Establish and maintain communication with Screening Program Staff, physicians and facility staff
Collect, enter, and report on follow-up test results.
Qualifications:
Required:
Education
Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant health care experience.
Experience in a healthcare clinical environment that involved interaction with patients and the public
Experience with database management and word processing.
Experience with electronic patient charts (EMR) and word processing, including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
Experience communicating difficult information to the public is an asset
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
