Synopsis of the role We are looking to hire a Data Engineer who will be involved in integrating, consolidating, cleaning, and structuring data for client solutions. This role will include learning to investigate stakeholder queries, identifying and escalating issues, maintaining knowledge of regulatory requirements and data standards, updating documentation, following security protocols, and performing basic data quality checks. What you’ll do Under close supervision of the Team Leader, integrate, consolidate and clean data, and structure data for use by our clients in our solutions Learn the fundamentals to perform investigations on internal/external stakeholder queries with guidance from the Team Leader Identifies issues, analyze problems, investigate root cause and escalates to manager as needed Maintain current knowledge of industry regulatory requirements such as reporting mandates, concepts and procedures, compliance requirements, and regulatory framework and structure. Be able to support internal/external queries on data standards. Enter/maintain information in documentation repository Follow established security protocols Perform basic data quality checks, follow established procedures What experience you need BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline; Master’s Degree strongly preferred <2 years experience as a data engineer or related role Cloud certification strongly preferred Basic skills using programming languages such as Python or SQL Introductory understanding of cloud computing concepts Experience maintaining simple data pipelines, following documentation, transforming and entering data into a data pipeline in order for the content to be digested and usable for future projects Demonstrates basic Git usage Primary Location: CAN-Toronto-5700 Yonge Function: Function - Data and Analytics Schedule: Full time At Equifax, we believe knowledge drives progress.
