The Lead Data Platform Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the technical design and development of our cloud-native Data Mesh Architecture-driven data platform. This platform empowers data engineering teams to curate and publish high-quality data products seamlessly while enabling the business to perform both standard and advanced analytics securely. In this role, you will act as a technical product owner, focusing on enhancing the developer experience (DevEx) of the platform. You will engage with various data engineering and business teams to understand their perspectives and needs, helping to steer the direction of our platform and curate our backlog accordingly. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the functional design and development of application systems across all relevant technologies and platforms; Providing consultation to senior management on existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements into process and data requirements; Developing innovative solutions that have a far-reaching impact on the business, ensuring that designed specifications meet business needs; Offering comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT senior management and technical teams, making informed technology selection decisions. How You’ll Succeed Strategic Development & Execution: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand business requirements and translate them into system and application designs that align with our technology roadmap. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet business objectives and operational efficiency goals. Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices, and driving continuous improvements. Stakeholder Management: Act as the solution lead and interface with project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions. Ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements and architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and effective problem-solving. Who You Are You have 8-10+ years of experience in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications, with expertise in the following technologies: Azure, Azure Databricks, Azure Function Apps, Kubernetes, API development, microservices, event-driven architecture, Apache Spark, Python, Scala, .NET, Visual Studio Code, Kafka, Azure Event Hub, and platform engineering.
