Reporting to the Meat Team Leader, responsibilities for this position include the following:
• Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
• Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
• Learn to cut, trim, grind and prepare various cuts of meat according to customer requests or store requirements.
• Prepare products to Co-op standards, package and label finished products, maintain production records.
• Maintain and display all types of meat products according to department standards.
• Monitor code dates to always ensure the freshest inventory on the shelf; follow first in, first out (FIFO).
• Ensure a culture of safety while maximizing operational efficiency.
• Keep accurate records to support procedures and inventory management including completing paperwork required for claims, damages and shortages.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment.
• Support and follow the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and Customer Service:
• You have completed grade 12 or equivalent experience; previous meat cutting experience and meat cutter trade certification is an asset.
• You must be willing and able to participate in an intensive, in-store meat cutter training program according to established timelines.
• You are honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and strive to be the best in the work that you do.
• You are well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production, with a minimum amount of supervision.
• You are familiar with Food Safe procedures and practices.
• You have experience with band saw, manual cutting utensils and techniques, grinder and slicer are an asset.
• You can fulfill physical job requirements; able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 lbs regularly and larger weights periodically, work will involve exposure to cold temperatures in refrigerated and freezer areas.
• You have the ability to work in a fast paced, guest facing environment.
• You have a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
