Work Location British Columbia Office Overview: The role of the Supply Planning Manager is to own the rolling 18 month supply plan inclusive of inventory, production, and cultivation plans for both internally produced and externally sourced products. The Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for leading a team that generates the end-to-end supply plan focused on maximizing achievement of unconstrained demand while minimizing production costs and inventory levels through the integrated business planning (IBP) process. As a key contributor to the IBP process the Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for the execution of the supply review as well as for providing timely visibility to all supply constraints and key risks to published supply plans. The Supply Planning Manager will lead the slow moving and obsolete inventory process and support the ongoing maintenance of the inventory policy. Reporting Relationships and Contacts Reports to: Director, Supply Chain Planning Directs: Supply Planner(s) Internal Relationships: Demand Planning, Customer Development, Scheduling, Cultivation, Processing, IT, Procurement, QA&RA, Inventory, Warehouse, and Logistics External Relationships: External Suppliers Main Responsibilities: Lead the supply planning team responsible for creating the demand-driven rolling 16 week supply plan (weekly) and the demand-driven rolling 18 month unconstrained and constrained supply plans (monthly) as a part of the supply review process Lead the integration of key supply inputs to enable the end-to-end supply plan (i.e. cultivation plans and finished good production plans for both internal and external sources of supply) Generate routine reports on adherence to monthly graded cultivation plans, adherence to weekly production plans, and adherence to inventory policy/ inventory coverage Determine root causes of adherence gaps to monthly graded cultivation plans, weekly production plans, and inventory policy; and implement action plans to drive improvement Lead the monthly end-to-end supply review process inclusive of rough-cut capacity planning across all key operations in collaboration with the operations, processing, and external supplier teams Proactive identification and resolution or escalation of key supply risks to both constrained and unconstrained demand through the IBP (integrated business planning) process Liaise with the cultivation, processing, operations, and scheduling team to identify most optimal capacity configurations and develop scenarios to address supply constraints Generate effective routine processes that enable delivery of key supply planning priorities Support supply planners with weekly production plan hand-offs and monthly cultivation plan hand-offs to the scheduling team and other relevant stakeholders (i.e. cultivation, processing, external suppliers, etc.) Responsible for the execution and facilitation of the slow moving and obsolete inventory process for both bulk and processed inventory Support the finance team in quarterly inventory NRV/ obsolescence impairment reviews Own the allocation of bulk inventory across the business in events of constrained supply Lead the supply workstream of the AOP (annual operating planning) process Support supply chain leadership with adhoc reporting and projects as required Knowledge and Experience: Preferred undergraduate degree in business, economics, supply chain, math, or statistics 5-10 years experience in planning roles (supply planning, scheduling, S&OP, or IBP), in the consumer products, agri-food, or cannabis industry 2-5 years experience managing and building teams Knowledge of supply and inventory planning best practices Experience using relational databases and reporting tools, SQL and BI tools (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI) an asset Advanced MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Math, Supply Chain Management or Operations Management SCMP, APICS, or other supply chain-related designation an asset Experience designing and implementing advanced planning systems (inventory and supply planning) or leveraging a combination of offline, ERP and MRP data to generate inventory and supply planning tools Required Competencies: Attention to detail and ability to follow through Understanding and capability of how to build sustainable processes Adaptive and able to thrive in a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environment Strong influencing and negotiation skills to work cross functionally to drive desired outcomes Ability to multitask and balance competing time-sensitive priorities Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization Analytical and critical thinking skills as well as a passion for solving complex challenges SNDL is a vertically integrated, multi- segment, multi-banner retail operator, and Canada’s largest regulated product platform.
