You will be working collaboratively with your peers, Field Support Leads and colleagues within the Talent and Development Team to share your knowledge and expertise about operating our treatment processes in accordance with our standards, procedures and industry best practice. Your experience of surface and/or ground water sites and water treatment processes will be invaluable in helping to develop training material and you will be confident to share your knowledge in subjects such as the principles of water quality, disinfection and hygiene as well as our regulatory obligations. You will be required to deliver technical training modules to operational and technical teams using a variety of methods to ensure that colleagues receive an enriching learning experience. The delivery plan is always ambitious, so we are seeking an extremely self-motivated individual who is highly organised and has a proven capability of getting work completed to tight deadlines. The ability to articulate work processes in order to develop training material is essential, as well as demonstrable IT proficiency in various applications such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. You will also be responsible for developing in house competency assessment via an online portal and it will be your responsibility to produce suitable material for publishing as well as supporting line managers in producing reports. Full training and coaching for this will provided. You will be fully supported through this process, not only by your line manager but also by a dedicated Project Manager and colleagues from within Talent Development. You will also be encouraged to maintain a close working relationship with colleagues from the Water Resource and Production so as to draw on their experience and expertise. Primarily you will be delivering training and supporting colleagues within the area in which you are currently based, but on occasion you might be required to travel across our entire region so it is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. Key Accountabilities includes: Creating and delivering function specific learning interventions that will help SW to demonstrate to our regulators that our field teams are trained and competent to fulfil their role. Working closely with our Team Co-ordinator to ensure that training records are captured in a timely manner, stored in accordance with GDPR and appropriate reporting for line managers is produced so ongoing capability and performance can be continually reviewed. Being the key point of contact between the business and field teams to seek and receive feedback about appropriateness of training and/or learning interventions. Being responsible for creating and refreshing a question bank in order to keep the competency tool ‘Clever Nelly’ used to its full potential. To be successful in this role you will be required to have the following skills and competencies: Strong experience of working within the water treatment function Proven experience of how to operate surface and/or ground water sites Sound understanding of regulatory requirements affecting the provision of wholesome drinking water Understanding of sample types, health significance of water quality parameters and principles of water supply hygiene Understanding of health and safety as well as risk assessment principals and application to real world situations Ability to summarise technical issues to non-technical audiences, and communicate effectively and concisely (both written and verbally) with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external (including regulators) Demonstrable planning and self-management skills with a flexible approach Ability to influence and persuade others at all levels It will be ideal if you have NVQ level 3 in water treatment however it is not essential!
