Job Title: Associate, Performance Measurement and Analytics
Job Description
Working closely with Data Management & Investment Reporting, Investment Risk, Investment teams, Operations, external providers, and IT, the Associate provides and drives reporting solutions, establishes data integrity checks, performs reasonability checks, and ensures policies and procedures are followed. The position involves training junior team members by directing and mentoring them in executing routine tasks, producing a variety of reports, and using various systems. The role reports to the Senior Manager/Manager, Performance Measurement and Analytics.
Responsibilities
Develop and present investment-related reports and analysis across multiple disciplines to enhance the management and monitoring of investment performance.
Conduct research and analysis on investment performance with significant attention to detail.
Assist in evaluating proposed calculation methodologies and financial models for operational reasonableness.
Develop regular and ad-hoc performance measurement and attribution models to support the investment decision-making process and the investment review process.
Manage, monitor, and evaluate performance, risk management, and attribution at various portfolio levels in a timely manner.
Establish, maintain, and enhance working relationships with key stakeholders.
Provide analytical and value-add support to internal stakeholders to support investment decision-making, transform data into meaningful and actionable knowledge by analyzing reports and providing recommendations.
Collaborate with front-office investment professionals to obtain and understand detailed reporting and information requirements.
Collaborate with the Data Management team to support the development and enhancement of the reporting environment and processes to better facilitate and customize the delivery of information for end-users, including defining data classifications required and assisting in establishing processes to translate the book-of-record into usable inputs for the requested reporting.
Collaborate with the Client Relationship Management team to better facilitate and customize the delivery of information for clients.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement while collaborating with co-workers to implement changes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on investment market conditions and trends to support projects as required.
Provide appropriate and timely information, analysis, and reporting for management and the Board.
Provide detailed training and coaching to new Associates to enable them to work independently and provide timely and accurate reporting.
Perform audit (secondary) reviews of Associate work to ensure accuracy.
Support department lead with third-party governance initiatives as assigned.
Participate in several strategic projects, working closely with the department lead to communicate progress on assigned tasks effectively, escalate concerns and potential risks, and provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry (preferably in asset management or capital markets), including 2 years of experience with performance measurement.
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is required. A graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MFin) and/or a professional designation (e.g., CFA, FRM, CIPM) is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of finance, portfolio management theory, and a broad range of asset classes, investment strategies, and investment vehicles, including practical aspects such as market conventions, specific product knowledge, and best industry practices.
Advanced quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills with comprehensive financial analysis experience.
Well-versed in performance measurement principles, methodologies, and practices, with previous experience with P&L attribution and analysis considered an asset.
Proficient with MS Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Visio, PowerBI).
Experience with SQL and VBA programming languages.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Written communication skills required to report complex information (e.g., risk reports, compliance issues, performance attribution) clearly and concisely.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to exchange complex information, present information, build key working relationships, cultivate partnerships, and work collaboratively in a team environment with internal and external resources.
Experience with Eagle PACE and additional programming languages is desired.
Work Environment
The position supports a team of 5-7 members and several others across the group. The role follows a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in the office. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the most popular in-office days, while Mondays and Fridays are work-from-home days
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
