VP of Products Weir Motion Metrics Vancouver, BC(Hybrid) Purpose of Role: This full-time leadership role is responsible for the organization’s product roadmap and product portfolio with a particular focus on mining technology, robotics, AI, and vision-based systems. As the VP of Products, you will align product strategy with business objectives, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure our smart solutions deliver unmatched value to global mining customers. Key Responsibilities: Product Vision and Roadmap: Develop and manage a product roadmap that achieves Motion Metrics’ vision of being the global leader in digitally enabled mining productivity and safety solutions. Set the strategic direction for multiple product platforms. This involves understanding our customers’ challenges and the external market, tech, and competitive trends. Collaborate with Engineering to bring these solutions to life and quickly deploy with our Global Sales team. Set commercial strategies and collaborate across the organization to achieve our financial growth goals. Customer Success: Responsible for leading the global Customer Success team, developing the global program and ensuring customers receive and feel the full value of solutions to maximize impact on their operations. Collaborate with the Customer Success team to translate customer needs into scalable, innovative products. Market Opportunities: Understand market dynamics, competition, and opportunities to maximize sales revenue and market share. Create business cases and plans for these opportunities that include a clear definition of the market, the opportunity, and the impact on the organization with meaningful financial models. Responsible for setting global pricing and approving any non-standard offers. Marketing Strategy and Execution: Lead marketing and Motion Metrics brand efforts. Collaborating with the Corporate Marketing team to define strategy for business unit messaging and advertising, including online presence, promotions, launches, trade shows, etc. Act as a strategic leader, representing Motion Metrics' product innovation at external industry events. Product Requirement Definition: Understand and translate customer needs into engineering and business requirements. Prioritize, scope, communicate, and initiate projects, ensuring each project is delivered on time and on budget while delivering results for relevant stakeholders. Conduct robust VOC analysis to understand customer needs and commercial opportunities. Financial Health: Responsible for creating and executing a five-year RoIC plan. This includes responsibility for expense budgets, pricing, margin, inventory health, and warranty. Deep understanding of portfolio health tied to Intellectual Property and cost position, driving future business requirements to ensure sustainability and growth. Regularly analyze portfolio results to plan, adjusting tactics to achieve year-end objectives. Ensure products are quickly and successfully adopted by the market, leading to profitability. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mining, Robotics, or related technical field; Master’s degree (MBA or technical field) preferred. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Product Management, Product Development, or Commercialization, ideally in mining technology, industrial AI/robotics, or imaging systems. Innate understanding of the mining industry, including drill and blast, extraction and comminution processes. Strong technical acumen with AI, machine vision, robotics, or mining systems technologies, preferably as they apply to solving mining related problems. Track record of successfully bringing complex technical products to market. Exceptional leadership skills, including cross-functional team leadership and executive communication. Customer-centric mindset with proven experience leading voice-of-customer efforts and incorporating customer feedback into product development. Experience in managing product lifecycle and associated P&L ownership. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. The candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 25% (both internationally and domestically).
