Maintenance Worker – Full-time, Permanent

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Assisted Living Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Ts’i’ts’uwatul Lelum Assisted Living building and grounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and routine maintenance duties according to schedules and may be on-call for maintenance needs that occur outside hours of work.
This position is fulltime, permanent, Monday – Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, based out of the Assisted Living facility at 5755 Allenby Rd in Duncan. This position pays $27.10 per hour.

Qualifications
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Minimum 2 years maintenance experience
Completion of a maintenance training program is preferred but not required
Experience working with Elders, seniors and persons with disabilities in congregate/assisted living setting is an asset
Experience working in and with Indigenous communities is an asset
Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract
First Aid – Level 1 (paid for by M’akola)
WHMIS certificate (paid for by M’akola)
Other
Follow M’akola Housing Society and Assisted Living policies and procedures
Provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
