Reporting to the Director of GWS Pricing, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the pricing strategy for Segregated Funds. This role is perfect for someone who can independently manage projects, take ownership of initiatives, and wants to make an impact! The ideal candidate will be a model expert with strong technical and modeling skills, capable of working cross-functionally to drive the business forward. You will contribute to the analysis and development of recommendations that balance the needs of our customers, shareholders, and employees. Key Accountabilities: Technical Expertise Build and maintain the Segregated Funds pricing model, including actuarial assumptions for profitability, reserves, and capital projections. Conduct financial analyses and provide data-driven recommendations on financial and non-financial risks. Ensure products and business initiatives meet profitability and risk goals as per Corporate Pricing Standards. Provide pricing support and build business cases for strategic projects and investments. Prepare and present Product Proposal Outlines and Product Pricing Reports for risk assessments and product launches. Business Planning, Profitability and Reporting Identify, measure, and report risks of new business, including non-financial risks, ensuring alignment with the company's risk appetite. Oversee new business profitability reporting, including embedded value and lifetime return on capital. Take ownership of the new business plan and be a key contributor to the overall business strategy. Project Management and Leadership As a key member of a high performing team, mentor and develop junior actuarial staff by coaching them on technical concepts and soft skills. Collaborate with cross-functional teams - such as Group Financial Actuarial, Valuation, Capital, Finance, Risk, Product, Sales & Distribution and more - to drive business growth. Present initiatives and results to senior management. Oversee and ensure flawless execution of initiatives. Job Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Competencies): Actuarial designation (FSA, FCIA) with 3+ years of relevant experience in progressive actuarial roles. Strong technical skills in actuarial modeling (Pathwise/AXIS), assumption development, reserving, and capital requirements, with the ability to review and analyze data for root causes and drivers. Knowledge of Segregated Fund products, IFRS17, LICAT, hedging, taxation, and financial markets will be an asset. Clear and concise communicator, capable of explaining complex actuarial concepts and results. Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, able to work independently using sound judgment. Maintains composure and confidence in high-pressure situations, demonstrating persistence in overcoming setbacks. Results-oriented, adept at managing expectations, meeting tight deadlines, and prioritizing competing tasks. Strong business acumen, with the capability to build relationships across functions and influence business outcomes. Growth mindset and lifelong learner with a desire to challenge the status quo.
