As part of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT), the Director, Head of Sponsorship is a senior leadership role responsible for identifying, developing, budgeting, contracting and managing sponsorship opportunities across all verticals of The MRG Group. This includes assets in our bar and hospitality spaces, music venues, festivals, and large-scale public events. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing creative and commercially viable solutions to life.
The Head of Sponsorship has responsibility for a wide range of functions, including, but not limited to:
Sponsorship Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute a comprehensive sponsorship strategy aligned with The MRG Group’s business objectives.
Identify sponsorship assets across venues, festivals, bars, and events, creating compelling packages that drive partner value.
Set annual sponsorship revenue targets and develop a pipeline to meet or exceed goals.
Sales & Relationship Management
Proactively identify and engage potential sponsors, nurturing relationships to build long-term partnerships.
Lead negotiations and close sponsorship deals, ensuring they align with brand standards and deliver on partner expectations.
Act as the primary liaison between sponsors and internal teams to deliver exceptional activation experiences.
Execution & Reporting
Oversee the creation of sponsorship proposals, agreements, and post-campaign reports.
Ensure seamless execution of sponsorship activations, working closely with events, marketing, and venue teams.
Monitor and analyze sponsorship performance, providing regular updates to leadership on KPIs and insights.
Leadership & Collaboration
Build and manage a small, high-performing sponsorship team as needed.
Foster collaboration across internal departments, including marketing, operations, and finance, to maximize sponsorship success.
Act as a brand ambassador, representing The MRG Group at industry events and networking opportunities.

Sales Leader: You have a proven track record of exceeding sponsorship revenue targets, with at least 5–7 years of experience in a similar role.
Creative Strategist: You can identify unique sponsorship opportunities and craft innovative, mutually beneficial solutions for partners.
Results-Oriented: You thrive in a performance-driven environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
Industry Expert: Experience in the bar/hospitality, live music, or festival/event industries is a strong asset.
Relationship Builder: You have exceptional interpersonal skills and a robust network of brand and agency contacts.
Resourceful Problem Solver: You’re entrepreneurial and can independently manage all aspects of the sponsorship process.
Experience Seeker: You love bars, concerts, and travel, believing that people who like to do things, like to do things.
Qualifications
5–7 years of experience in sponsorship sales or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to close high-value sponsorship deals.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Experience in creating and executing sponsorship activations.
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
Willingness to travel for meetings, events, and activations as required.
