JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is to provide support to our both our retail and corporate teams across Canada. In this dynamic role, you'll serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, delivering hands-on HR support while championing our values and fostering a positive and compliant work environment. You'll lead key HR functions including employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, immigration and legal compliance, and broader HR operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, handling concerns with discretion, empathy, and efficiency.
Partner with managers to cultivate an inclusive, respectful, and legally compliant workplace aligned with L’Occitane values and Canadian employment standards.
Oversee the leave of absence and accommodation process, ensuring smooth experiences for employees.
Work closely with legal counsel to mitigate risk and ensure consistent resolution of complex matters.
Maintain logs to track employee relations and accommodation trends, supporting data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support employee development, succession planning, and retention strategies.
Onboarding and Off-boarding:
Coordinate all pre-hire activities for corporate employees, including IT setup, documentation, and workspace preparation.
Conduct 30/60/90-day check-ins to support new hire integration and performance.
Maintain onboarding metrics and share quarterly insights with the Senior HRBP.
Continuously enhance the onboarding experience through feedback and innovation.
Lead exit interviews and monitor trends to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with document retention and termination processes.
Deliver quarterly offboarding reports to HR leadership with actionable insights.
Immigration & Relocation Support
Support the preparation of employment-based immigration petitions and maintain compliance with immigration laws.
Keep employees informed of relevant immigration updates and ensure documentation is up-to-date and consistent.
HR Policies & Compliance
Assist with the creation, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
Lead policy rollouts and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Conduct and document monthly health and safety inspections for both office and retail locations.
Partner with Payroll to conduct audits and maintain accurate wage tracking.
Office Operations (Canada Office)
Serve as the point of contact for health, safety, and office compliance matters.
Provide backup support for Office Management, including assisting with emergencies and urgent situations as needed.
Manage and distribute internal office announcements and communications.
All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
HR certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or CHRP) is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in a similar role.
Experience supporting both corporate and retail employee populations across multiple locations

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able work in normal office conditions
Must be able to travel via airplane within the Canada and Internationally
