Underground Media & Design
We are a full-service media, design & print shop located in the basement of the McMaster Students Centre. We offer a wide range of affordable print products as well as self-serve options to the students, staff & faculty of McMaster and the broader Hamilton community.
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for opening and closing duties, assisting clients over the counter, answering phones, performing daily billing duties as well as assisting with print production work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skills in verbal communication required to deal with customers and others within the organization
Organizational skills an asset
Background in customer service oriented industry considered an asset
Effort & Responsibility
Must be courteous, friendly, and organized.
Able to problem-solve and deal with a wide-range of clientele.
Responsible for dealing with varying amounts of cash.
Ability to multi-task.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced environment with many high peaks in client volume. Can be noisy and hectic at times.
Standing for the majority of a shift is to be expected.
High activity levels or extra training may require customer service representatives to work more than their scheduled weekly hours.
Frequent lifting including heavy objects, such as boxes of paper and final printed products.
Training and Experience
Experience in cash handling preferred.
Experience in a retail/customer service environment also preferred.

Power cutting & trimming machines
Electric staplers
Scoring machine
Spiral binding machine
Calculator

Remuneration: A - $17.35 per hour
