Job Summary: The Manager, Accreditation role manages activities pertaining to accreditation projects and regulatory recognition for CSA and CSA facilities in various geographical locations. Secures and maintains the accreditations and regulatory recognitions necessary for CSA to carry out program service offerings. Arranges and prepares for accreditation audits, assists in coordinating timely corrective/preventive actions, and responds to related findings externally. Supports the maintenance of an electronic system reflecting the status of CSA’s accreditation and regulatory recognitions and scope expansion activities. Activities exclude items related to CSA Standards. Responsibilities: Monitors accreditation-related legislative activities in geographical scope to identify potential impact on CSA and communicates this information to stakeholders as required. Reviews both active and proposed legislation, communicates internally and recommends appropriate policy and position, liaises with legislators for the purpose of obtaining formal acceptance and recognition. Works with the various stakeholders for conducting gap analysis for obtaining accreditation, planning and executing the required activities for obtaining accreditation/recognition in a timely manner. Acts with urgency and is responsive to internal and external stakeholders. Maintains and expands, as needed, all necessary accreditations and recognitions for CSA. Ensures that applications for all new accreditations and scope expansions are coordinated with stakeholders. Assists with pre and post-assessment activities. Ensures that accreditation audits are well coordinated and are efficiently managed. Provides information and training to management and staff, as required, in support of accreditations. Determines the necessary financial resources needed for accreditations fees, as well as, other costs associated with accreditations and regulatory recognition. Monitors, reviews, and arranges for payment of accreditation fees while monitoring continuous coverage and return on investment. Prepares and maintains the annual budget for all expenditures pertaining to accreditation and regulatory recognition. Manages the accreditation and recognition of assigned CSA facilities. Coordinates decisions on any scope expansions or reductions of existing accreditations, and recommends new accreditations to Commercial / Operations as required. Prepares and transmits the applications for accreditation renewals and scope expansions. Actively coordinates and supports accreditation audits in geographical scope. Serves as a liaison between stakeholders in both pre-audit and post-audit follow-up activities (i.e. scheduling audits to mitigate the impact on certification work, preparing for audits, ensuring that findings and recommendations are properly interpreted and acted upon, etc). Receives and responds to audit reports and findings in cooperation with appropriate stakeholders. Supports the coordination of corrective/preventive actions between all departments and functions relative to accreditation and regulatory recognition. Establishes and maintains all necessary accreditation records such as contact information, scopes of accreditation, regulatory recognition, accreditation requirements and related technical standards. Provides information to appropriate parties internally and externally, as required. Represents CSA interests in domestic and international conformity assessment body activities such as Accreditation Committee participation. Works with the Quality Management team to implement the accreditation rules in the QMS. Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering or Technology degree. ISO/IEC17025/17065/17020 Lead Auditor or equivalent training and experience. Formal training or experience in quality assurance methods and/or auditing. A combination of 8-10 years of progressive testing and product certification experience, and 5 plus years of direct management experience in a supervisory capacity. Expert knowledge of certification schemes and mark acceptance programs in Canada and the US in areas of CSA interest. Project Management experience/certification is an asset. Comfortable working with MS Office 365 applications (Outlook, word, excel etc.) and willing to learn other productivity/collaboration tools. Additional information: Site visits may include visits to factory locations. Regular travel to CSA offices (domestic and international) in support of accreditation assessments, as required.
