The impact you will have:
This is a great opportunity for a professional that has recently completed, or is in the final stages of completing, their CPA designation and is seeking to expand their experience and responsibilities, on a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with various Finance teams as well as business unit leaders. You will play an integral role in delivering accurate and timely financial results and providing meaningful financial reporting and analysis to support business decision making.
What you’ll do:
Assist with month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results
Responsible for the finance team’s regional allocation process, submission of monthly GL reporting files to our parent company (WWT), and the monthly consolidated adjusted EBIT reporting file
Review and post month-end and quarter-end journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
Work closely with Finance team as well as business units to ensure all transactions are recorded in timely, accurate and complete manner
Perform assigned account reconciliations
Prepare and analyze monthly results and develop insightful analysis and commentary on business performance vs Plan and Forecasts
Prepare regional allocations of SGA and compensation to facilitate regional reporting accuracy and consistency
Document and maintain existing reporting procedures
Provide cross-functional support within Finance team
Develop new analytical processes for accounting procedures
Identify areas of process improvement in partnership with all relevant stakeholder groups on an ongoing basis
Ad hoc projects as required
What you’ll bring to the table:
3-5 years of Accounting and Reporting experience
University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting
CPA designation, or at a minimum, enrolled in the final stages of the CPA program with the intention and ability to complete the program in the near future
Previous experience with an ERP system (SAP experience is an asset)
Strong intermediate level computer knowledge specifically in MS Word and Excel
Knowledge of US GAAP, with proven knowledge and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles to a broad range of scenarios
Experience in reviewing current accounting processes and innovating changes to create efficiencies and improve reporting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Enjoy working independently and within team environment
Ability to build solid relationships with business partners
Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines and work in fast paced environment
Able to work past scheduled hours due to deadlines, month or year-end requirements
