Job Description: VP Finance, Global Technology and Corporate Segment The VP Finance, Global Technology and Corporate Segment oversees key financial and strategic prioritization and investment for technology across Sun Life as well as the Corporate Segment and provides thought leadership. This role will report to the SVP & CFO, Global Technology, Finance Strategy and Operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team of Finance professionals to support of Global Technology and the Corporate Segment Lead the planning and reporting processes Provide decision support to senior leaders in Global Technology and the Corporate Segment Manage the prioritization of investments while highlighting the value / benefits Provide financial thought leadership to leaders in DBTS and the Corporate Office and Share insights to drive optimal decisions and investments Continue to advance the transparency and optimization of Corporate and Digital, Business and Technology Solutions (DBTS) costs throughout the organization. Continue to optimize the Technology and Corporate allocation model to create the business decisions for the business group by partnering with the Business Group Finance teams to review, understand, influence and recommend opportunities for their DBTS and Corporate Office costs Lead and provide oversight and manage the Enterprise Request for Approval (RFA) process and accountable for the business case review approval and project & portfolio management Enterprise operating guidelines. Work with the Business Groups ensuring adoption of new policy and supporting guidelines Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Business Group finance teams Build, attract and develop a strong and diverse team Key Skills & Attributes: Proven experience building and developing a top performing team Excels at critical thinking and evidence based decision making Excellent oral, written , presentation and communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to drive performance of others and deliver results. Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment and across multiple sites and multiple business units. Strong business acumen with a strong understanding of IFRS17 and IFRS 9 Ability to apply advanced financial concepts and capabilities across business activities. Experience and knowledge in collaborating with Senior Business and Corporate Leaders. Proven experience leading in a matrix model with the ability to foster effective working relationships and negotiate solutions. Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills. Effective change management, through impact and influence skills. Ideal Experience: Accounting Designation with 10+ years of experience in the financial management field in a senior leadership role or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience leading in a matrix model across a wide range of geographies and disciplines with a track record of managing partner satisfaction. Proven experience in bringing innovative options and solutions to business partners and leading through change. The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
