Based in Vancouver, the Co-op/Intern, Corporate Finance, will report to the Manager, Corporate, and assist in the accounting and reporting functions with the opportunity to participate in data analytics and the audit process. The Intern will begin with basic entry level reconciliations and increase to a compilation of reports following comprehensive training and additional experience. What We Offer: An organization and leaders that support your development through meaningful work experience A Student Mentorship Program designed to provide 1:1 support throughout your experience Opportunities to build your industry knowledge through Corporate Speaker Series & Fireside Chats Giving back to community with your peers and team members through volunteering events Opportunities to build long lasting industry and professional relationships What You Will Experience: Wire Payment Processing Learn to obtain internal approvals in line with the Authority and Responsibility Matrix (ARM) Prepare wire transfer templates Assist in uploading electronic transfer logs (ETL) into Yardi Invoice Management Enter vendor invoices into Yardi based on business requests Assist in coding and processing invoices for Yardi Canada Ltd Audit Support Help pull and organize audit documentation as needed Revenue/ AR Related Apply incoming payments to various invoice types in Yardi Assist in preparing invoices for various fees Documentation & Support: Save and organize billback support documents and related invoices Support the team in pulling documentation for audits as needed Quarter-End Support Assist in preparing variance analysis reports for different business units by comparing actual results against budget and prior periods Work closely with Finance team members to understand key drivers behind variances Help consolidate and present findings to support quarter-end reporting What You Will Learn: Hands-on experience with Yardi, a leading real estate financial management system Exposure to accounts payable and receivable processes Understanding internal controls, audit processes, and financial documentation Best practices for managing corporate finance workflows and communication What You Will Bring: Enrolled in a Business/Commerce degree program with a specialization in Accounting or Finance is desired Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages Ability to allocate one’s time effectively, work under pressure and manage deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities; willing to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment; organized; detailed orientated and a self starter Must have advanced knowledge of Word, Power Point and Excel, including familiarity with Pivot Tables & VLook Up Excellent communication, oral and written; able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; able to be flexible and work with all types of personalities; able to exercise confidentiality and places a priority on client services Embrace and pro-actively support QuadReal’s values and its culture of environmental sustainability and corporate and social responsibility Previous accounting or finance experience Don’t have all of the above skills?
