Hart House is a centre for experiential education outside the classroom at the University of Toronto. Since it opened in 1919, Hart House functions as a place where students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the broader community connect with each other and the world. Through an array of cocurricular programming in the arts, dialogue and wellness, Hart House works with local and international partners to foster community and to create innovative learning opportunities for students.
Hart House operates from a historic facility on the St. George campus, as well as a 150-acre farm in Caledon, Ontario, offering a wide range of services through a social enterprise model that generates revenue to support its student-focused programming on all three University of Toronto campuses.
The Hart House Information Technology department provides end-to-end technical support for all staff hardware, software, networking, and peripheralequipment, including digital displays, AV equipment, point-of-sale and other payment systems. The IT department is also responsible for the implementation and management of all Hart House-owned websites and e-commerce platforms, including hosting, domainservices, and security. In addition, the IT department also provides training to Hart House staff and works collaboratively with other internal departments, UofT partners, and external vendors, on projects to assess, plan, and implement new systems and technologies that improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the incumbent will play a key role in supporting the successful implementation of IT-led initiatives across Hart House, including the development and implementation of an organizational reporting and analytics dashboard, to help inform decision making and ensure strategic and operational objectives are being met. The Businessand Project Analyst will meet with key departmental stakeholders to understand priorities, assess processes, and develop a plan to implement enhancements, ensuring that deficiencies are addressed and to otherwise capitalize on opportunities. The successful incumbent will be goal-oriented, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills along with keen analytical capabilities and a broad understanding of current and future IT trends. The incumbent should be comfortable with managing conflicting priorities and be able to work independently as needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning the implementation of new business system processes
Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems
Researching, analyzing and recommending potential changes to system features
Analyzing and documenting business requirements
Developing and maintaining a dashboard for quick access to key performance indicators
Providing detailed information on system specifications to clients
Testing business applications to ensure reliability
Conducting Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) and Privacy Risk Assessment (PRA)
EssentialQualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science or Business Administrator, or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
Minimum four years experience in working on the technical implementation of business systems in a heterogeneous Windows, Mac OS and UNIX/Linux environment
Must have a diverse application experience including, but not limited to, standard Office 365 applications, e-mail applications, Microsoft operating systems, web browsers and a demonstrated ability to expand existing skill set
Excellent knowledge of various digital tools, technologies, and software, including database management, data visualization, and data analysis tools such as SQL, Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, Tableau, and similar systems
Demonstrated ability to assess vendor data privacy practices
Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive data, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to strict privacy standards
Must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills under pressure
Demonstrated superior ticket, email, and telephone etiquette and a strong commitment to high quality service
