Job Description: Position Summary The position of Regional Accounting Manager is responsible for coordinating and assuring all field accounting functions are performed timely and accurately across all the Canadian Infrastructure projects. This position works very closely with operations personnel as a very critical and important member of the team. This position also generates financial reporting and analysis of actual job performance and presents it to executive management. This position will office in Mississauga, ON. This position reports to the Operational Accounting Manager for the Infrastructure Division. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for monitoring and analyzing job performance, budgets, and managing forecast updates and revisions to budgets. Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports and analyzing variances compared to previous forecasts. Communicates routinely with Project Managers, Regional Managers and the Business Director. Oversee job cost allocations and ensure that all the cost incurred is captured in the financial statements accurately and that the project's financial results accurately reflect the status of the projects while following company accounting policies. Partner with Operations Management and Project Control department to create and analyze KPI's to make strategic decisions. Consistently monitor and track cash position and update forecasts. Provide an interpretation of financial information for executive management. Lead, train, and direct the work of the operational accounting team and project assistants in the Canadian region. Work closely with the equipment department and leasing facilities to procure and support project fleet needs. Must be willing and able to work some evenings, weekends and holidays. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities Strong communication skills Flexible attitude and ability to work in a team Mastery knowledge of MS Excel Working knowledge of MS Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Working knowledge of SAP Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required Seven (7) years of accounting experience with infrastructure maintenance / construction accounting experience preferred. Work Conditions/Physical Demands Must be able to work in an open office environment where noise level is low – to moderate The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand. Use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities include close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Must practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and printer. Required to travel locally, overnight or internationally.
