Join us and become a Heartist®.Job DescriptionReview journal entries prepared by the accountantsReview all bank and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the accountantsOversee the CAPEX approval process and provide ad-hoc analysis as neededOversee the Fairmont stores accounting processOversee the Ovations and Gift Card accounting process, including the accounting for issuance/redemptions and breakage, and any other ad-hoc analysis as requestedApprove and release bank wires and paymentsApprove new vendors and vendor updatesManage the monthly reporting process to head office, reconciling between local accounting tool and management reporting toolAct as intermediary between head office and local accounting team in relation to global directives and guidelines for financial reporting, including Transfer PricingPrepare complex accounting entries and push down entries from Paris head officeBalance / reconcile inter-company accountsPerform analytic procedures and respond to questions from head office relating to monthly reporting dataPrepare statutory financial statements and respond to audit requestsPrepare financial statements and analysis for board meetingsSupport the payroll process by preparing journal entries and accrualsEnsure month-end deadlines are met and all inquiries are investigated promptly and resolved professionallyEnsure government issued surveys are completed on timePerform special projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; CPA designation is an assetPossess knowledge of accounting and IFRS conceptsProficient in preparing journal entries and account reconciliationsAdvance Proficiency in MS ExcelKnowledge in Oracle E-business Suite (EBS) and Hyperion is an assetWorking knowledge of payroll remittances and payroll journal entries (U.S. and Canadian) is an assetAnalytical thinker with strong organizational and prioritization skillsStrong leadership and experience in both developing a team and enhancing processesAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyDetail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skills
