Job Details: Located in Cold Lake, the Systems Administrator will support Information Technologies at both Cold Lake and Bagotville ACMI sites. Working with a Team of Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Analyst, the Integrator Technical Systems Level 1 understudies and assists the Technical Systems Integrator. This position applies comprehensive technical knowledge to assist in the maintenance of both hardware and software equipment to assure operating requirements for all of the systems. These include but are not limited to the radio relay/microwave system and the Canadian Weapons Effects Simulation (CWES) system. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide quality technical service and produce onsite manuals and documentation. Maintain files to document and support the maintenance effort and keep a record of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements. Assist in ensuring that the building and remote sites are in compliance with fire and safety regulations and participate in the conduct of annual inspections to this end. Assist in ensuring the performance of hardware maintenance of computers and associated peripherals. Conduct trouble shooting to analyze technical problems and recommend solutions. Set up and operate electronic test equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental tests to evaluate performance of components, subassemblies, and assemblies. Conduct analysis of equipment malfunctions and utilize various maintenance and repair manuals, test equipment, wiring diagrams, schematics, electronic devices and electrical equipment and verbal instructions to rework, repair, test, troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Analyze and interpret test data to determine if within appropriate specifications. Administer Windows 2003 Server, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory. Assist in the provision of a comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance program. Minimum Job Requirements: Two-year college degree, or equivalent, in electronics, computer science, information systems and/or related technical school plus a minimum of two years of experience in electronic equipment operation and maintenance. Must be able to solve complex problems/tasks that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Ability to use personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs. Requires familiarity with the interrelationship of circuits and judgment in executing work sequences and selection of tools and test equipment. Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical ability to walk, stand, and/or sit for extended periods of time, and to climb stairs is required. Requires the ability to lift 75 pounds. Requires bending, reaching, and fitting into tight spaces to perform normal duties. Requires a security clearance of SECRET.
