Your role We’re looking for a Senior Manager, DevOps to lead and grow our team of highly skilled DevOps engineers. In this role, you’ll drive the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of our CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our platforms. As the senior leader of the DevOps function, you'll be responsible for: Leading infrastructure design and automation strategies, from development to production. Managing project timelines and delivery milestones in partnership with product and engineering. Mentoring a team of high-performing engineers, fostering collaboration, growth, and accountability. Overseeing monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions across systems and applications. Serving as the key interface between development, operations, and business leadership, with a strong focus on communication and alignment. You’ll be successful in this role if you: Bring deep expertise in DevOps tools and practices, including GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, Bamboo, Terraform, Ansible, Vault, Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS. Have hands-on experience with Linux (preferably RHEL), CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native architectures. Are highly organized and can manage multiple priorities and timelines with ease. Excel at building strong team culture, developing others, and translating technical complexity into clear outcomes. Are proactive and analytical — able to identify gaps before they become issues and continuously improve systems and processes. This is a highly visible leadership role that blends technical excellence, people leadership, and project execution. You’ll play a key part in shaping the infrastructure that supports everything we build. Responsibilities: Maintain a 24x7 production environment with a high level of service availability and incident response readiness. Collaborate with Dev, QA, and Ops teams to perform root cause analysis and implement proactive instrumentation to prevent future service degradation and outages. Provide leadership and direction to DevOps staff responsible for break-fix operations, uptime, and reliability of core services, distribution systems, and customer-facing network elements. Manage the Akamai CDN contract and vendor relationship. Explore and implement new cloud features, tools, and innovations that improve system reliability and performance. Partner with development teams to define and implement improvements to service architecture. Implement automation and orchestration for manual processes required to operate and deploy cloud and on-premise services. Drive the development of internal Ops tools, turning new ideas into scalable solutions. Provide ongoing leadership and coaching to the DevOps team across all company locations. Oversee staff workload and promote a healthy, safe, and productive work environment. Oversee key projects and departmental initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Set clear expectations and create a positive team culture based on accountability, in collaboration with Technology & Innovation and Digital Product teams. Participate in company-wide initiatives to define and promote shared design patterns across R&D teams. Coordinate communications and troubleshooting efforts during major outage events; document findings and ensure timely follow-up and resolution. Ensure all infrastructure events (e.g., outages, incidents, changes, maintenance) are properly scheduled, communicated, and reviewed. Review service KPIs and lead monthly meetings to address support performance and capacity issues. Coordinate escalation paths and maintain regular touchpoints with external vendors. Promote clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong support culture across the team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience accepted. 8+ years of experience supporting or developing hybrid/distributed systems. 3+ years in a leadership or management role with 5+ direct reports. Proven ability to design, deliver, measure, and manage hybrid infrastructure environments. Working knowledge of Akamai CDN or similar CDN platforms. Experience with automation and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and optionally Vault. Experience with a variety of open-source technologies and cloud-native architectures, including microservices, is considered an asset. Deep understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and the ability to implement and enforce DevOps practices across the organization. Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt between Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies as needed. Hands-on experience with AWS and other public cloud technologies. Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written); French is an asset. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
