Controller, Corporate Accounting Responsibilities Oversee the month-end close process for TELUS Health, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and fund transfers. Team is also responsible for validation of consolidating and intercompany entries, Key point of contact for new acquisitions, including PPA adjustments, processes and policy alignment. Lead the statutory financial reporting team, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards and regulatory frameworks, while coordinating with auditors, tax teams, and other stakeholders. Manage and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative culture driven by continuous professional development and training. Implement streamlined processes to increase efficiency and accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of financial disclosures to corporate headquarters in accordance with IFRS. Review technical accounting memos on complex accounting matters and recommendations. Support Director, Finance with ad hoc financial analyses, reporting requests, and leadership inquiries. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audit activities, including preparing required documentation and ensuring successful audit outcomes including SOX compliance related controls Assist in development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Provide training and support to finance teams on financial processes and systems. Contribute financial insights to cross-functional strategic initiatives and collaborate with senior management to drive financial performance and growth. Partner with department heads to develop and manage budgets, providing guidance on appropriate accounting treatments. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred. 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including at least 3 years in a management role. Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with technical accounting research and documentation Experience with SAP or Workday ERP is considered a strong asset. Strong financial acumen, project management, and communication skills Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships across organizational levels and manage teams effectively Sets high standard for team and ensures high quality outcomes are achieved.
