We champion work-life balance, ensuring you have time for personal endeavors and your professional aspirationsJob DescriptionThis role will be working on the Land Command Support System (LCSS) which primarily supports the Canadian Army operations by providing the information services required to make effective and timely decision. The system is an interconnected network of digital communications and information systems by which the data needed to plan, direct and control tactical land operations is communicated, stored, processed, and displayed. In this role, primary responsibilities may include:Apply human factors methodologies to designs in progressParticipate as part of the human factors team in creating designs or updates to designs addressing as well physical ergonomic considerations and identifying concernsElicitation of requirements and user needsCreating human engineering inputs for delivery to the design teamCreation of or review and assessment of prototypes and mockupsWorking with the development team to investigate and respond to problem reportsAnalyzing and investigating multiple possible designs solutions, providing recommendations and documenting rationaleSupporting the software and hardware teams by supplying timely technical directionParticipating in peer reviews of various work productsCreating tasks analysis and function allocationAnthropometric and works space analysis through the interaction with the Human Process® modeling toolResearch and user testing as identified.QualificationsExperienceAbility to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision this includes in outdoor environments and in and around large vehiclesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAn understanding of human engineering concepts and/or graphical user experienceAn understanding of ergonomic implications in a designExperience designing hardware or workspaces an assetKnowledge and use of user evaluations and elicitation methods an asset.Knowledge of anthropometric modeling an assetExperience with usability analysis and reporting including statistical analysis is an assetEducationCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree focusing on Ergonomics, Biomechanics or Kinesiology with a supporting focus in Human Factors engineering through Psychology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.Security ClearanceMust be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
