Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, a 25 min drive from north London, is the largest Veterinary Owned Distributor in Canada. WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE (Permanent Part-Time)
Under the direction of the Warehouse Coordinators, this role is responsible for performing various warehouse duties associated with the proper picking, verifying, packing, and shipping of orders. Being part of the team, we all play a vital role in helping to maintain a clean, well-ordered, and safe working environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Team player, looking to get the job done and support others
Pick a variety of orders for member clinics and E-commerce clients using a batch picking method on an RF Scanner
Training as required for Forklift and Electric Pallet Trucks
Verify orders to ensure accuracy and safely pack items into shipping totes
Create and apply shipping labels
Maintain warehouse inventory levels
5S environment – areas are neat and tidy
Truck loading and unloading
Follow all Standard Operating Procedure
Other warehouse tasks as assigned
Note: This position requires employees to walk/stand for the entirety of their shift, and lift up to 50lbs, as needed.
Health & Safety:
Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Conducts self with regard for the safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures
Report any health & safety violations or hazards to a Supervisor, Coordinator, or Manager
Good Manufacturing Practices:
Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Skills and Knowledge Required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Previous work using an RF scanner (preferred)
Strong written & verbal communication
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Schedule:
Operational days are Sunday-Friday with varying shifts based on business needs. Schedule will be set 3 weeks in advance. Mix of days, afternoons, and weekend shifts which can vary between 8 and 10-hour days are available. Shift flexibility will be accommodated if possible. Ability to pick up extra shifts or call-in shifts to back fill vacation or higher volume.
Sundays: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Mondays to Fridays vary based on operational requirements
