Job Summary The Inbound Transportation Operations Specialist oversees and coordinates daily inbound national transportation operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement and services. They collaborate with internal and external business partners, maintain schedules, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Transportation Coordination: Ensure monitor and track timely delivery right the first time Work with transport carriers to meet daily shipping schedule Coordinate daily appointment schedule Coordinate all import logistics documentation (e.g., bills of lading, invoices, customs clearance) Coordinate transfers between business unit branch plants Complete daily required transfers transactions in JDE Support the timely resolution of shipment delays Address and resolve issues such as delivery delays, damaged goods, or scheduling conflicts 40% Operational Efficiency: Optimize routes to reduce costs and improve delivery times Identify and implement process improvements Monitor transportation expenses and stay within budgetary guidelines Audit freight rates and invoices Supports the validation and payment of freight invoices Negotiating rates and exploring cost effective, cost reduction solutions by tendering lanes and sourcing new partners 35% Data Analysis and Reporting: Support the timely resolution of shipment delays Analyze transportation metrics and performance data to identify trends Prepare and present reports on costs and performance to management Vendor performance score card KPI’S service levels and discrepancies NCR’s for uncooperative vendors Other tasks and duties as required 15% Collaboration: Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations Build relationships with transportation providers Communicate delivery discrepancies or changes 10% Qualifications: Minimum Required Secondary School Diploma Previous experience in a distributions/warehouse environment Experience working with freight carriers Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with a problem solving mindset Strong organizational and time-management Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Intermediate computer skills including data analysis, database and computer applications such as Excel Experience in transportation and WMS management tools Attention to detail Preferred Education in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or a related field. 2-5 year’s experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management. COMPENSATION: Budgeted Range – $59,738.00 -77,308.00 the budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
