Key Accountabilities
Assisting with accounts receivable & accounts payable
Prepare and process cheques/EFT/wire payments and bank deposits
Act as liaison for all 3rd party Insurance financing contracts
Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
Track and complete weekly tasks, including refunds, return cheques (NSFs), and cheque deposit errors
Balance accounts by reconciling entries
Ability to navigate and organize excel spreadsheets
Provide back-up support for bookkeepers
Maintain accounts by verifying, recording transactions, processing journal entries, and ensuring that all transactions are recorded correctly
Balance accounts by reconciling entries
Assist in month-end process
Assemble information to assist with audits
Comply with relevant reporting requirements and follow accounting policies and procedures
Maintain complete filing system to support financial records and shared drive clean up
Perform other related duties and special projects, as required
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
A minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a bookkeeper or a similar role is preferred
Post-secondary education completed in accounting or bookkeeping program
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
Experience with TAM/Applied Epic or in the insurance industry considered an Asset but not required

Self-motivation with ability to problem-solve with limited supervision
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Accurate data entry skills with extra attention to detail and overall accuracy
