About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Application Architect to lead the design and delivery of web and API-based enterprise software solutions. You will play a key role in shaping integrated IT solutions and modernizing the technology stack as part of a highly agile, customer-focused development team. This role demands technical leadership, a collaborative mindset, and a drive for innovation through modern design and development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical solution design, architecture planning, and delivery for enterprise-grade applications.
Collaborate with development teams to implement new features, resolve defects, and drive architectural improvements across backend and frontend components.
Design and develop RESTful APIs based on TMF Open API standards.
Provide mentorship and technical direction to developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality best practices.
Champion DevOps culture, Agile practices, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and reviews.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, UX/UI designers, and QA teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
Utilize experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, eTOM, or CoBiT to drive robust and scalable solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in IT architecture, technical solution design, and enterprise software delivery.
Hands-on experience with backend technologies:
Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Quarkus, SOAP/XML, RESTful Services, Spring MVC, Multithreading, Swagger, Microservices.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs using the TMF Open API suite.
Frontend development experience is an asset:
ReactJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, Java, Web Services.
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native application development.
Experience working within Agile delivery models (Scrum, SAFe preferred).
Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Strong communication skills – both oral and written – in English.
Assets:
SAFe Certification or formal Agile training.
Experience with architecture governance frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, CoBiT, or eTOM.
Working Conditions:
Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend
Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
