The Lead Hand - Receiving is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all incoming shipments in the warehouse, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards, which includes assigning tasks to receiving staff, checking for damage or discrepancies, maintaining inventory records, and resolving any receiving issues that may arise. In a prompt and accurate manner, manage the Lead Hand will be responsible for planning, direction and control distribution What you will do: Capable of acting as Shift lead coordinating efficient use of resources First Aid/CPR certified Capable of decision making and problem solving Oversee department activities to align timely order fulfillment with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives Foster a culture around safety. Ensure direct reports receive the appropriate Health and Safety training. Champion and drive Safety initiatives (5S, Near Miss) to ensure the facility is organized, clean, and safe. Ensure Associates follow all safety policies and procedures. Thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner Communicates with the shipment planner concerning the arrival of shipments Manage the Bin replenishment process for a smooth case pick/ pack operation / ensure timely put away of Finished goods into correct locations Cross-trained in all aspects of the operation (pick/pack, receiving, shipping) Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service Demonstrate strong organizational skills Ensures that the distribution area is organized and maintained Operates Reach Trucks, Order Pickers pallet jacks and powered walkies. Acts as train the trainer. Keeps consistent and accurate information flow to purchasing. Completing expedites for assembly Manage incoming loads for the most economical put-away Proactively manage staging space. Assist the receiving staff to meet credit/repair processing turn metrics. Participates in year-end inventory including preparing the shipping/receiving area and store for physical count. Responsible for observing and monitoring employee performance Utilize lean tools to drive continuous improvement. What you will need High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required License to operate Raymond reach trucks Arrow Aisle, pallet jacks and powered walkies required Previous picking or packing experience in a warehouse/distribution environment with RF scanners PC literate with AS400 and hand-held scanner experience Ability to lift 50lbs by hand and mandatory to operate manual equipment Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, twist and crouch for long periods of time Ability to work weekends and have shift flexibility to meet the demands of the business Allegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if: You are seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.
